Thierry Henry believes Arsenal’s youngsters CAN beat Chelsea in the Carling Cup Final on Sunday.
The Club captain is highly likely to watch the game from the stands at
the Millennium Stadium because Arsène Wenger has vowed only to use
players who have featured in the previous rounds of this season’s
competition.
Henry denied he was unhappy to miss out on a Final. He argued it would
be unfair to parachute him into the side and, anyway, it is a
competition in which he had rarely participated.
“Some people wrote that the boss is snubbing me,” he said. “But if you
look at how many games I have played in the Carling Cup that will tell
you why I am not playing on Sunday. Since I'm at Arsenal, the boss has
always rested players in the Carling Cup and even in the first rounds
of the FA Cup.
“So I will be cheering the team on Sunday. I will be there in the
dugout or something like that. And, as ever, the most important thing
is to bring the trophy back for the fans.”

Match Report
Carling Cup Final
Millennium Stadium
Sunday, February 25, 2007, 3pm
"The stadium isn't full just yet, we understand that quite a few fans have been delayed on the roads and trains.
1 min - Arsenal get this final started - come on you Gunners!
12 mins -
GOAL! Walcott takes Diaby's pass into the box and slots is
past Cech! His first Arsenal goal! Arsenal in front - a dream start!
21 mins -
GOAL! Bridge finds
Drogba on the right and he fires it in
under the body of Almunia. It looked a bit offside, it was definitely
against the run of play.
56 mins - Chelsea win a rare corner, Lampard hits it in. Terry goes for
it with his head and get a kick in face from Diaby. That was a heavy
kick and Terry is down. He's unconscious and the medical team are on
the spot.
59 mins - Terry is still down in the box, the medical teams look calm and prepare the stretcher.
63 mins - There is obviously concern about Terry's neck, he is apparently conscious and is clapped off the field. Mikel is on.
84 mins -
GOAL! Robben crosses from the left and
Drogba's header flies into the right corner. Chelsea are in the driving seat.
90 mins - Seven minutes will be added.
(94 mins - All chaos breaks out after Mikael's foul on Toure. He had
hold of his shirt and he wasn't happy. Both managers are on as the
players scuffle.
95 mins - Mikel and Toure are sent off for the scuffle. Then Adebayor is sent off, I have no idea why and he isn't happy.)
Seven minutes of injury time were added on, courtesy of Terry's injury
and, with time running out, a huge melee broke out after a clash
between Kolo Toure and John Obi Mikel. Red cards followed for Mikel,
Adebayor and Toure himself. It tarnished the memory of a fabulous Cup
Final."
